Helping workers function, perform their daily activities and remain productive in their careers/employment is the primary function of our physical and occupational therapy team.

Our therapy team works in a variety of industrial/work settings. These include factories, offices and other work sites. We provide pre-placement screening services to help employers determine whether candidates for employment are healthy and physically capable of safely performing their job tasks.

We also conduct injury-prevention classes at various employer facilities to teach workers how they can best help prevent accidents and job-related injuries in their workplace. Common work-related conditions include:

• Spine disorders – Most of the jobs in our society have the potential to affect our backs! Traumatic accidents, gradual joint deterioration and postural changes that occur over time can all impact a worker’s productivity and well-being. Our licensed therapists attempt to find the cause of work injuries while also treating the individual’s specific symptoms.
  
• Repetitive trauma – Repeating the same task thousands of times a week can cause significant soft-tissue damage and postural changes in a worker. Our therapists teach workers to take responsibility for "balancing” their postures and movement to reduce or prevent pain while also treating the symptoms.

Special Industrial Programs at Professional Therapies include:

• Industry specific injury prevention – Training classes offered at your worksite.
  Our therapists tour your facility and construct a program unique to your workers. We teach the importance of posture, stretching and maintaining a healthy lifestyle by using our experiences and examples of your employees. 
  
• Functional capacity evaluations (FCEs) – Extensive evaluations done in order to determine an individual’s physical abilities. Standardized tests using special computerized testing equipment provide measurable data to determine if a person can perform a specific job or a general job type. FCEs are also used to provide data for disability claims.

Our work conditioning and rehabilitation programs are designed to help injured employees safely and quickly return to their jobs – even after a long period of time off.

We help condition employees with strength, flexibility and endurance training. Better conditioning will help prevent future injuries. They practice specific job tasks in our facilities from two hours up to eight hours a day preparing for their return to work. We even arrange lodging and transportation for out-of-town  clients.
